The University is keen that local residents are aware of facilities that are open to anyone to enjoy. Warwick Arts Centre: The Centre offers theatre, cinema, arts, music and comedy as well as several food and retail outlets, and the redeveloped Butterworth Hall concert venue will re-open in October 2009.
Sport at Warwick: The sports facilities at Warwick are available to anyone who becomes a member. Different levels of membership are available dependent on which facilities you would like to use. Available facilities include a 25m swimming pool, the Running Bear Fitness Suite, a weights room, the Bear Rock Indoor Climbing Centre, tennis, badminton and squash courts, a running track, and a sauna suite.
Tennis Centre: Opened in February 2008 the new £2.5million tennis centre, funded by the University, the Lawn Tennis Association and an anonymous benefactor, offers state of the art indoor courts and improved outdoor courts, lessons for all levels from absolute beginner to advanced, and regular social events. It is the first centre of its kind in Coventry and Warwickshire to offer open access to the public without having to take up membership.
Open Studies Courses: the Universityâs Centre for Lifelong Learning offers both 10 week short courses and day schools in a wide range of subjects from languages to art to local history.
